haight

One of my favorite places in San Francisco is Haight Street. It's a gold mine full of great finds -DVDs, records, clothes, shoes, accessories, food, weed (if you are bold enough to ask for it). So I planned to spend several hours there last Thursday.

I wanted to buy a new pair of shoes so I scoured the street for cool, funky shoes. After trying different brands and models in five stores, I chose an Adidas Handball 5 Plug in ocean and silver at the Adidas Concept Store in Shoebiz.

Then I went inside Amoeba Records. It was tough deciding which records to buy. I was getting hungry. I could hear my stomach grumble. So I picked two CDs and paid for it. I received an SMS that my lunch dates were meeting me at a Mexican Restaurant.

Sean and Paolo are a couple. They are both artists. I met them in 2005 during my first visit to San Francisco. Sean told me that he was preparing for a Spring 2009 exhibition. "I'll be using thumbnail photos of guys at Guys4Men to create this huge, surreal landscape."

"That is interesting," I said, and bit a chunk of burrito. "But it would be a good idea to add thumbnail photos from Dudesnude, too."

"What's that?" Sean asked. I knew this was going to be a long conversation.
